Jesus Montero belted his first home run of the 2010 season, while Mark Melancon recorded his second save in Scranton’s 7-2 victory over the Ike Davis-less Buffalo Bisons. Melancon has now thrown 10 1/3 innings, with 9 strikeouts and a .222 average against. For Montero’s progress this season, be sure to check out the “Montero Watch”, which is updated daily in the side bar on the left. Both Montero and Melancon remain on the Yankees radar as two players most capable of making an impact with the big club should the need arise.
Speaking of Ike Davis, the Mets 2008 first round (18th overall) draft pick made his major league debut at Citi Field this evening and singled in his very first at bat.
